Biography

I am a multi-disciplinary designer with a background in design and development of user-facing products with digital or tangible interactions.

I currently lead a Scotland- and New York-based design agency specialising in user experience, design and product development for early and growth stage tech companies.

Prior to this I spent over 15 years creating one of the UK's leading suppliers of educational tools and bespoke interactive exhibits to schools, museums and science centres worldwide.

I joined SACHI and the School of Computer Science in a part-time basis in 2019.

Teaching

Modules as part of the Human Computer interaction MSc:

  • CS5042 - User Centred Interaction Design and
  • CS5041 - Hardware and Software Interfaces

I also supervise projects at a variety of levels across our school.

Research areas

I am interested in better understanding user interactions and improving user interfaces (tangible and digital), particularly in areas such as digital health, education and fintech. I collaborate with colleagues across the university and with external companies and institutions.
