Governance, leadership and administrative structure
The School of Biology operates through a number of committees and leadership groups that support teaching, research, equity, diversity and inclusion, safety, and strategic decision-making. Committee membership and key role holders are listed below.

A key priority for the School of Biology. Our EDI Committee promotes an inclusive and equitable environment for staff and students and helps ensure EDI considerations are embedded throughout School activities and decision-making.

Provides strategic oversight of research, research culture, postgraduate research activity, knowledge exchange and impact across the School.

Oversees learning and teaching strategy, curriculum development, programme delivery, assessment, student wellbeing and the overall student experience across the School.

Oversees postgraduate research provision, student recruitment, progression, training and the research student experience across the School.

Oversees health and safety matters across the School and promotes compliance with University policies and relevant legal requirements.
