"I absolutely love the fact that in St Andrews you can walk to town, get lunch/dinner, and walk back - seeing at least one person you know, three times over!!"

"Since coming to university from college I've had the time of my life whether that be doing the pier walk, going to Christmas ball or most importantly studying the subject I'm passionate about. Philosophy!"

"East Sands is my favourite spot in St Andrews with amazing views, delicious food, and so many traditions. Come deadline season though, you’ll find me celebrating with ice cream at Janetta’s after every submission!"

"My favourite part of St Andrews is probably the size! Coming from such a huge city, being able to walk for not even half an hour and be in the middle of the countryside is a dream to me, as well as being able to walk around town and see such beautiful architecture, which is so unlike living in the city."

Juan Pablo
Queretaro, Mexico
"Hi! I am on my third year at undergrad but it's my fourth year at St Andrews because I took a Foundation Year. In these almost four years I have fallen in love with both the uni and the town. My favourite tradition of the uni is raisin and the academic families, I got lucky enough to have amazing academic parents and academic children and this has made my uni experience amazing and unique! Fun fact, I have run a radio show with STAR Radio since 2018 about good ol rock music!"

Iona

"I decided to study at St. Andrews as I loved the idea of being surrounded by a tight-knit community – over my two years at university, this has been my exact experience! After such a short time, it becomes your home - everyone really knows everyone, no matter what they study, and they welcome you with open arms."

"I’ve started my study remotely due to the pandemic but it’s safe to say that the students and staff here are a tight-knit, supportive community. I’m involved in the Chess and Debating Societies and plan to get active in a few more once in St Andrews. I definitely would also like to check out the beaches (though they’ll be much colder than the ones back home!)"

"When I saw the beautiful pictures of St Andrews during the application season, I knew that I would be certain to come! 2020 is a special year, especially for me as a new undergraduate student. There are a lot of uncertainties but are also full of possibilities. Online study gives me more time to explore the scenic views of the town in my spare time and I surprisingly won the third prize for DRAFP's Autumn photography competition."

"St. Andrews has become the most welcoming, loving, and fun community and I am so grateful for my opportunity to be here. When applying to colleges, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go abroad full time, but looking back I wouldn't have it any other way. The ability to study with people from around the world and call this tiny town home for four years has been an amazing experience. I have loved every one I've met and every experience so far, and I can't wait for more."
