IELLI offers courses in TESOL, International Education and Digital Education. Each programme can also be taken as a joint Masters degree combining English with any of the three options above.
Courses are available as both full-time and part-time options, as a full MSc, PGDip or PGCert, and through on-campus or online options. For information on the differences between these degrees, see the qualifications explained page.
Individual modules can also be taken for professional development purposes too!
TESOL
Our TESOL courses provide the opportunity to integrate the theory and practice of teaching English to speakers of other languages. They are designed to be useful to experienced teachers and those considering a career in English language teaching.
Students who have an interest in a particular field of TESOL can also choose one of five specialisms to focus on and graduate with a TESOL degree in that specialism.
- Assessment and Evaluation
- English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
- English Medium Instruction (EMI)
- Teaching Young Learners
- Technology for Teaching
International Education
Our International Education programmes provide you with an understanding of the leadership, management and administrative issues involved in schools, universities, education-facing NGOs and similar organisations operating in international contexts.
The majority of International Education students work:
- in managerial and administrative roles in international education organisations such as schools, universities, and education-facing NGOs
- in educational agencies
- as educational policymakers
- as International Officers
- in education-related marketing roles
Digital Education
Our newest programme allows you to study the theoretical underpinning and the practical applications of digital education. Consider broad issues relating to digital education, alongside a practical focus on how to design online programmes, and how to use specific learning technologies on a course.
Digital Education graduates are equipped with a range of skills and experiences which allow them to take on a variety of roles relating to the planning or delivery of digital education, such as Educational Technologist or Digital Education Developer.
