Advising
Exchange students and international study abroad programme students must meet with an academic adviser before beginning their studies at the University of St Andrews. This process is a mandatory part of your registration.
Each undergraduate student in the Faculties of Arts, Divinity and Science is assigned an Adviser of Studies, who is a member of academic staff in the same Faculty as the student.
Please note, you must complete pre-advising before attending your in-person meeting. Your Adviser of studies may send you away again if you have not completed pre-advising.
You cannot enrol in any module without the approval of your Adviser of Studies. As well as approving module choices, your adviser will also help you understand any relevant aspects of academic regulations.
You are recommended to bring a copy of your up-to-date transcript to aid the advising process.
