The MSt(Res) degree is a twelve-month masters degree. You will first apply to the MLitt degree. Subject to satisfactory performance in the taught element of the MLitt (at least 15 average), and as long as a suitable supervisory team can be provided, you will be eligible to apply to the MSt(Res). The offer will be conditional on successful completion of the MLitt
The MSt(Res) itself consists of a twelve-month period of research in which you will write a dissertation of typically 30,000 to 40,000 words, to be examined by an internal and external examiner.
Satisfactory performance on the MSt(Res) may lead to the PhD.
