Final module grade calculations

For all pre-honours modules in the School, the final mark is the amalgamation of a number of components. The Module catalogue specifies the breakdown between final exam and coursework. A more detailed breakdown is given below:

PH1011 60% examination, 10% class test, 5% lecture engagement, 25% labs
  Must achieve at least grade 7.0 in laboratory work.
  Must achieve at least grade 2.0 in final exam.
   
PH1012 50% exam, 25% labs, 15% Group Discovery Project, 10% class test
  Must achieve at least grade 7.0 in laboratory work.
  Must achieve at least grade 2.0 in final exam.
   
PH1013 60% examination, 40% coursework
  Must achieve at least grade 7.0 in laboratory work.
  Must achieve at least grade 2.0 in final exam.
   
AS1001 60% examination, 15% tests, 25% practical
  Must achieve at least grade 7.0 in the laboratory work.
  Must achieve at least grade 2.0 in final exam.
   
AS1101 50% class test, 25% practical, 15% take-home exam, 10% online quizzes
  Must achieve at least grade 7.0 in the laboratory work.
  Must achieve at least grade 7.0 in the class test.
   
PH2011 / PH2012 60% examination, 10% class test, 25% labs, 5% lecture engagement
  Must achieve at least grade 7.0 in laboratory work.
  Must achieve at least grade 2.0 in final exam.
   
AS2001 60% examination, 15% class tests, 25% lab
  Must achieve at least grade 7.0 in laboratory work.
  Must achieve at least grade 2.0 in final exam.
   
AS2101 80% exam, 20% continuous assessment (class tests)
  Must achieve at least grade 2.0 in final exam.

In modules that have both examination and continuously assessed components, a student who achieves less than grade 7.0 in the exam but meets the other requirements detailed above will receive an overall grade for the module which is determined by the formulae above but subject to a maximum grade 6.9.
