Research areas
Dr Yujia (Flavia) Jin’s research is interdisciplinary, situated at the intersections of comparative literature, history, and digital humanities. Her doctoral research examined how the Italian Renaissance is scripted on the small screen, with particular attention to how serial television and video games reconstruct historical figures and events from the period.
Her broader research explores how history, literature, and cultural memory are adapted and recycled within popular digital culture. She is particularly interested in historical video games and is currently developing research on the digital uses of cultural heritage in different global contexts.
