Professor joins Board at Foundation Scotland

1 November 2021

Professor Tobias Jung, Director of the Centre for the Study of Philanthropy & Public Good (CSPPG) based at the School of Management, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of Foundation Scotland, Scotland's community foundation.

A charity focused on developing confident, thriving and resilient communities across Scotland, Foundation Scotland is one of 50 community foundations in the UK. Last year, it distributed over £37 million on behalf of its donors to support communities to shape their future with the capacity and resources to deliver it. Projects have included:

  • local woodlands and gardens
  • arts projects
  • emergency Covid-19 response
  • flood relief
  • climate friendly community transport.

Professor Jung said:

"I am absolutely delighted to join Foundation Scotland’s Board of Trustees. Having looked at community foundations as an organisational expression of philanthropy at national and international levels through a research lens, being able to bring those insights to the post and bridge academia and practice in the community foundation field is an exciting opportunity."
