Library Management System - Reading Lists

The way the new system works is similar to the previous version, with many of the same features:

• You can access lists via Moodle, using single sign on.
• Look and feel are similar, with options available for sections within lists.
• Level of importance can be set for each reading.
• You can add annotations to individual readings.
• There are links to online content, and live availability of print items.

• Integration with the library management system has simplified bookmarking from items held in our collections, with less manual editing required.
• A new option to add items to your reading list directly from library search without leaving the system improves accuracy of links to online material.
• Students will be able to better manage their reading with new functions such as marking items as read, or adding items to favourites.
• You should notice more consistent formatting, and better accuracy of reading lists.
• Lists are now integrated into Moodle making it easy for staff and students to go straight through to the list, meaning less switching between systems. Access is also still available via links from MySaint, MMS, etc.

• Training is available to academic colleagues who wish to continue (or start) creating and editing their own lists. More information can be found on PDMS.
• All 2024/5, and 2023/4 lists have been copied over to the new system. This includes scans.
• Likewise, any older lists that are planned for teaching in the coming academic year have also being copied over.
• For any students taking resists, 2024/25 lists are still available for use. If you have any queries, feel free to contact us.
