Academic Liaison
Academic Liaison look after the information needs of academic staff and students, and can give advice on all aspects of Library services. They are a point of contact between each of the Schools and the Library, and they support literature searching, book selection, referencing software, and using all the library resources and online material. Take a look at the subject guides, which group subject-specific information and resources.

How can we help?
New staff
New academic staff, please contact your Liaison Librarian when you arrive at the University to arrange an introductory chat and to ask any questions you have about the libraries and services.
Information Skills Teaching
The Library welcomes contact from teaching staff to discuss arranging information skills sessions for students in their subject areas. Please email library@st-andrews.ac.uk. Sessions can be tailored to suit the needs of individual classes. Through these sessions, students are introduced to the key research databases in their disciplines and are helped to use them effectively. They can be shown how to:
- use alerting services
- evaluate websites
- find information about referencing and referencing styles.
Training in the use of referencing software such as EndNote and Mendeley is also available.
Support for research
The Academic Liaison Librarians are keen to work with staff to support their research needs, and to provide guidance in the use of specialist information resources.
