Venue hire
Book unique museum spaces for events such as conferences, receptions, and meetings, supported by the Libraries and Museums team.
What we will do:
We will offer access to bookable museum venues including the Learning Loft, Albany Gallery, Wardlaw Museum, Martyrs Kirk and Bell Pettigrew Museum of Natural History (subject to availability and operational feasibility). We will support users before and during the event through a dedicated member of the Libraries and Museums team.
Free and discounted bookings are available for University Schools, Units, and student societies under specific conditions.
How this will be delivered:
- We will reply to booking request emails sent to museumenquiries@st-andrews.ac.uk within 24 hours (Monday to Friday, excluding holidays).
- We will provide support from a member of the Libraries and Museums team before and during the event.
- We will confirm venue availability and event details and request a 10% deposit to secure the booking.
- We will prepare the space in advance and ensure it is arranged per the booking specifications.
- We will ensure confirmed access to the booked space at the agreed start time.
Important information:
Users must:
- submit a booking form at least one week in advance of the event
- pay the agreed hire fee and 10% deposit in advance
- abide by terms and conditions provided by Libraries and Museums
- leave the space in its original condition and vacate on time; a cleaning fee may be charged if not
- arrange catering through University Catering Services
- coordinate AV or IT needs with University IT Services.
Cancellation charges:
- Up to four weeks before the event: deposit forfeited.
- Between four weeks and one week before the event: 50% of the booking fee.
- Less than one week before the event: 100% of the booking fee.
