Research areas

Dr Camilo Ardila is an Associate Lecturer in the School of International Relations.

His current research explores the intersection of decolonial studies, transitional justice, democratic theory and environmental ethics.

Camilo holds a PhD in Politics from the University of Edinburgh. His work has been published in Millennium, Res Publica, Journal of Moral Philosophy, LSE Book Reviews, Cuestiones de Filosofía, and Diálogos de Saberes. His first monograph, which theorises pluriversal approaches to political reconciliation, is under contract with Duke University Press.

Before joining the University of St Andrews, Camilo held teaching positions at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Dundee in the UK, as well as at Universidad Santo Tomás and Universidad Libre in Colombia. He has also been a Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute for Socio-Cultural Studies "Pensar" in Colombia.
