Dr Aimée Fox and Dr David McMahon have been awarded the annual Norman B. Tomlinson, Jr., prize for 2025 for the best work of history in English on World War One (1914-1918) by the World War One Historical Association for their book Framing the First World War, published by University Press of Kansas.

The collection carries a strong St Andrews connection: it features contributions from Professor Hew Strachan, a distinguished member of our School who retired this summer, as well as essays from two recent St Andrews PhD graduates, Sofya Anisimova and Sneha Tumu Reddy.
