Dr Bernhard Blumenau Appointed Panel Member of Research Excellence Framework for Politics and International Studies

The School of International Relations is pleased to announce that Dr Bernhard Blumenau, Senior Lecturer in International History and Politics, has been appointed as a member of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) sub-panel for Politics and International Studies.

At a time when public finances are under increasing pressure, it is perhaps more important than ever to highlight the high-quality research work being undertaken across UK institutions. The REF plays a vital role in assessing the quality of research, as well as the engagement and impact of studies produced at universities throughout the country.

Dr Blumenau brings to the panel his interdisciplinary expertise as a trained international historian working in the field of international relations, alongside his experience of working within diverse research cultures in the UK, Switzerland, and Germany.

Commenting on his appointment, Dr Blumenau said:
