School of International Relations launches new online MSc in Conflict and Security in Policy and Practice

The School is delighted to announce the launch of a new online, part-time programme for January 2026 entry, the MSc in Conflict and Security in Policy and Practice.

Running entirely online, the programme builds on the School’s deep and proven expertise in online education. Blending cutting-edge academic research with an applied and active curriculum, the MSc offers students a policy-relevant programme of study.

Students on the MSc will develop foundational knowledge of key issues related to conflict and security, while also tailoring their degree through a series of optional modules. Designed and delivered by a dedicated programme team, the MSc is an excellent opportunity for students to explore real-world challenges in a supportive and interactive environment.

Ranked first in the UK for International Relations in both The Guardian University Guide 2026 and The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026, the School is renowned for its world-leading research and teaching focus on conflict, peace, and security. The University is offering six St Leonards Digital Education scholarships for entrants commencing their studies in January 2026. These scholarships provide a contribution of up to £6,000 in total towards MSc tuition fees.

The MSc Conflict and Security in Policy and Practice is also available under the UK Ministry of Defence’s Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) scheme. Members of the UK Armed Forces can offset their course fees through the ELC scheme.
