Isabella Muschamp was of mixed Scottish and English parentage. Her father, Thomas Muschamp [SSNE 3168], was born in England in 1580. Despite his English origins he was consistently associated with the Scots in Swedish service and he married the Scot Elin Lindsay [SSNE 6328], Isabella's mother. Thomas had two daughters, Margareta [SSNE 6327] and Isabella [SSNE 6329], who inherited their father's land.
