Margaretha Muschamp was of mixed Scottish and English parentage. Her father, Thomas Muschamp [SSNE 3168], was born in England in 1580. Despite his English origins he was consistently associated with the Scots in Swedish service and married the Scot Elin Lindsay [SSNE 6328]. Thomas had two daughters, Margareta and Isabella [SSNE 6329], who inherited their father's land. Margaret married lieutenant colonel Robert Bruce [SSNE 4347]
