Tom Dawson is an archaeologist with an interest in coastal heritage, community archaeology and heritage management. He was a Commissioner sitting on the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland until its dissolution in October 2015; and a Vice President of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland until 2018.
In addition to teaching modules in archaeology, Tom brings his knowledge and interest filmmaking (from both sides of the camera) to two public history modules. In these, final year students learn how to film and edit footage, and make a documentary in lieu of writing a dissertation.
