Inaugural lectures

Each year the University hosts a series of inaugural lectures given by recently appointed Professors. It is an opportunity for the University to showcase the academic achievements of its staff and also for the Professor to extend the reach of their research to the wider community.

The inaugural lectures are currently being delivered as virtual events on Teamslive. Lectures start at 5.15pm, there is no need to book, full details can be found on the University' Events page.

Inaugural lectures are a ceremonial occasion, and academic robes are worn by the inaugural professor and members of the Office of the Principal. Those attending the lecture do not wear academic robes.

Previous inaugural lectures can be found on the education blog.
