Biography
I am a Quaternary geochronologist specialising in the development and application of optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating to investigate landscape evolution and (palaeo)environmental change. My research combines geochronology with geomorphology, stratigraphy, and sedimentology to develop robust chronological frameworks for understanding the timing, magnitude, and drivers of landscape change.
A central focus of my research is the application of OSL dating to complex sedimentary and geomorphological contexts, with particular emphasis on methodological development and advancing the reliability and interpretive potential of luminescence chronologies. I am especially interested in landscapes where environmental change and human activity intersect, using integrated geoarchaeological and earth-science approaches to investigate how communities responded to, adapted to, and shaped changing environments through the Quaternary.
