Lunch

Afternoon Lecture
The St Andrews Chronicles – delivered by the Principal and Vice Chancellor, Professor Dame Sally Mapstone FRSE in University House.

One of the most important histories of Scotland, which sheds new light on William Wallace and the Stone of Destiny, has found its permanent home at the University of St Andrews.

The St Andrews Chronicles is a startling manuscript. It is largely a handwritten copy of John Mair’s History of Greater Britain – one of the most influential and innovative histories of Scotland and England of the sixteenth century. It also contains an earlier hand-copied pamphlet, chronicling Scotland’s earlier history, including new information about William Wallace, the nation’s time under Guardianship, and even the Stone of Destiny.

Afternoon Tea with the Principal and Vice Chancellor, Professor Dame Sally Mapstone at her home, University House.

Pre-dinner Drinks Reception
Get together as group to discuss the day’s events and look ahead to another wonderful evening before dinner.

Dinner
Pittormie Castle, our venue for dinner lies 10 minutes from the Auld Grey Toon. This magnificent baronial castle is set amongst some of Scotland’s finest grounds featuring private walled gardens, manicured lawns and towering trees.

A farewell meal for the group with some student entertainment is on the cards for what promises to be a wonderful evening.
