Lambs' Tales

Nigel Melville, MA 1959, BD 1962

What started out as a literary anthology of the world of sheep and shepherds went global when one or two newspaper picked up my requests for quotations that I had not yet discovered.

In the end, the anthology never made it to the presses, but I felt I owed it to the world-wide army of "sheep freaks" who shared with me their experiences of meeting sheep - some were pet lambs, some had been near-members of the family for a lifetime of lamb-rearing, and some were passing (but memorable) encounters on country walks; but all had left their mark on affectionate memories.
