Biography

I am a Lecturer in Banking and Finance at the University of St Andrews Business School. Before academia, I worked as a statistician at the Scottish Government and a consultant at Aquila Insight.

I hold a PhD in Economics from Durham University, where I received the Best Thesis in the Faculty of Business award, an MSc in Economics with Distinction from the University of Edinburgh, and a BSc in Management, Philosophy and Economics from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

Teaching

I teach corporate finance (EC3318/MN3101) and behavioural finance (FI5614), as well as the master’s dissertation module in finance (FI5699), which covers econometrics with Python.

Research areas

My research is in household finance and banking, with a focus on consumer credit, mortgage markets and cross-border payments. I use administrative, transaction and survey data, and my work has been published in the Journal of Banking & Finance and the European Journal of Finance.

My research sits within the Centre for Responsible Banking & Finance.
