Colour palette

The University of St Andrews colour palette has been designed to reflect the values of our institution.

Colour is a key part of our visual identity, and care should be taken when choosing appropriate colours from our palette.

Accurate reproduction of all colours is essential to maintain the high-quality appearance of the identity. Colours may vary in shade and density depending on the surface or screen to which it is applied. To overcome this, all colours must be matched to our approved colour swatches. Never use a previously produced item as a colour reference. The RGB colour breakdowns will vary with screen calibration.

White is also an important colour for our palette. It should be used to create space and to project a clean, modern and fresh presentation for all our layouts.

Primary colours

There are four primary colours that make up the University of St Andrews corporate identity, with St Andrews Blue being the core colour featuring at the forefront of most University products.

Secondary colours

A palette of secondary colours has been selected to complement the primary colours. These are used throughout our identity to add diversity and extend the scope and variety of colour and mood.
