Athena Swan UK Silver Award.

The School is proud to be the first School in the Faculty of Arts and Divinity to be a recipient of an Athena Swan UK Gender Equality Silver Award. This award is the result of 2 years of work (2023-2025) in which our Directors of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Dr Bruno Brulon Soares and Dr Elsje van Kessel, and members of the school’s Self-Assessment Team analysed the results of student and staff surveys, collected statistical data, conducted focus groups with students and staff, and worked together to identify and address the challenges that emerged. The EDI Committee has built on our previous Bronze Award, working to re-formulate our Athena Swan Action Plan which we will continue to implement.
