Museums Galleries and Collections Institute Annual Lecture 2023
Join us on Monday 23rd October at 6pm in School 2 of St Salvators Quad for Dr Angela Dressen's lecture on ‘Cultural Heritage goes digital: GLAM institutions at the digital turn. From object providers to research partners'.
Cultural Heritage institutions from the GLAM sector (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums) have traditionally hosted artefacts and information, with the intention to making the objects physically available for an interested audience. Nowadays, apart from the physical access to the objects, there are a variety of tools connected to them for either educational or research purposes. The presentation will highlight some of these, while pointing explicitly to new possibilities of engaging with collections from the research perspective.
Angela Dressen is Andrew W Mellon Librarian at I Tatti, The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies.
