Dr Julia Faiers wins Toulouse medal
The Société archéologique du Midi de la France of Toulouse (founded in 1831) has awarded a medal to Dr Julia Faiers (PhD, 2021) for her PhD thesis “Power, Piety and legacy: the patronage of bishop Louis d’Amboise in fifteenth-century Languedoc”, supervised by Prof Kathryn Rudy.
The society’s president, Virginie Czerniak, presented the medal to Julia at its annual public meeting on 26 March, 2023, in the historic Renaissance hôtel d’Assézat. During the presentation, the president acknowledged the valuable contribution Julia’s dissertation makes to the field. Julia’s PhD is only the second English-language thesis to have won an award in the society’s long history.
