Former student Rory Macdonald opens solo exhibition of paintings at Heriot Gallery, Edinburgh
Since completing his postgraduate degree, Rory has been working fulltime as a painter. His practice combines his art-historical education with the traditional medium of oil painting to show old master paintings in a new and often surprising light. Whimsical and unexpected, Rory’s paintings take motifs from artists such as Velázquez, Titian, and Van Dyck and play with juxtaposition and scale.
Transfigurations is open until 4 June.
