Investigating Indenture Servitude: Visualizing Experiences of Colonial America, online exhibition curated by Nicôle Meehan
This online exhibition and open data resource is the result of a year-long collaboration between Nicôle Meehan and the Centre for Digital Scholarship at the American Philosophical Society. Using a combination of data visualisation, archival materials and academic research, the exhibition encourages visitors to analyse the practice of indentured servitude through the lenses of gender, distance and time. A secondary aim of the project is to fully and transparently engage with, and put into practice, critical data ethics.
