What is your favourite thing about studying Art History at St Andrews?

I love how every lecturer is so enthusiastic about teaching and the content itself! I always learn quite a lot in lectures and tutorials, feeling that my Art History knowledge "database" has expanded by a little after every single class!

Why did you choose to study Art History at St Andrews?

I chose to study Art History at St Andrews because Art History had become my favourite subject through almost two years of self-studying. I had already visited numerous art museums and self-studied AP Art History by the time I applied to my dream university.

What is the most interesting/surprising thing you have learned so far in your Art History studies?

I've found that oftentimes artworks have a strong sentimental connection with and resemblance to literary masterpieces. For instance, Edvard Munch's "The Scream" suggests the same anxiety as Knut Hamsun's "Hunger" does, and J.M.W. Turner's "The Fighting T.
