There are a number of different people across the University who support our work on equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI). All these colleagues work together to:
- promote and facilitate good practice
- support staff and student initiatives designed to enhance belonging and inclusion
- ensure EDI compliance and manage risk
British Sign Language (BSL) users can contact the team through the online BSL Video Relay Interpreting Service.
Central EDI team
The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team provides advice, guidance and support on EDI matters, as well as develop, lead and maintain programmes and tools to support colleagues across the University to mainstream and embed EDI in their roles.
The team is also responsible for institution-wide EDI activity, such as submitting applications for institutional charter awards and completing statutory reporting requirements and play a key role in connecting and coordinating EDI activity.

EDI Faculty Leads
The EDI Faculty Leads support a coherent and connected approach to EDI across the University and help foster a work and study environment that promotes fairness, representation and inclusion for all staff and students in the Schools.
The EDI Faculty Leads liaise regularly with, and support, the School Directors of EDI (DoEDIs), providing a two-way communication channel and connectivity between School-level and University-level EDI discussions and activity.

Directors of EDI
Directors of EDI chair the EDI committees in each academic School.
They liaise with the EDI Faculty Leads to support the visibility of EDI activities, the sharing and embedding of good practice, and promote opportunities for collaborative working within their own, and across, Schools.
