Prof Brendon W. Lovett

Brendon Lovett is a Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of St Andrews. He obtained an MPhys from the University of Oxford in 1997 and completed his DPhil in Experimental Physics with Professor Stephen Blundell on Muon Spectroscopy in 2001. He then moved to the nanomaterials group headed by Professor Andrew Briggs to develop the theory of implementing quantum computing in nano materials. Following a Junior Research Fellowship at St Anne’s, Brendon was awarded a Royal Society University Research Fellowship in 2006. In 2010 he moved to Heriot-Watt to take up a Lectureship and to St Andrews in 2013. In his spare time Brendon enjoys playing the piano and golf, though not at the same time.
