At St Andrews, you are guaranteed a place in our halls of residence in your first year through our accommodation guarantee.
There is also a range of accommodation styles throughout the town to suit the way you want to live, with options for catered or self-catered, shared or en-suite facilities.
Degrees at St Andrews vary in length, but most are four years long (three for Medicine and five for Integrated Masters programmes).
The degree structure offers you a breadth of subjects and lots of flexibility in your first two years before you finalise your degree choice and specialise in your final two years.

Teaching at St Andrews is usually delivered through a range of learning styles. Lectures given by specialists cover core topics within your course, with tutorials, laboratory sessions and fieldwork included where appropriate. There is also a focus on independent learning, where you can develop your passions as well as your research skills. Assessment is usually through a combination of continuous assessment and end of semester exams.
