"Although I come from the big city of Hamburg, I have experienced much more in St Andrews, with the most wonderful people. I especially love meeting up with my dear friends at Cheesy Toast Check to eat one of the famous toasts while walking on the beach, even in autumn/winter. Before coming to St Andrews, I thought the weather would be very rainy and cold, but I was pleasantly surprised by the many hours of sunshine."

"Having never visited St Andrews prior to the start of my program, I was pleasantly surprised at how inviting, warm, and unique the town is. It was very easy to settle in and find my top spots. The small size of St Andrews, along with its international community, create the perfect atmosphere to pursue your degree, and account for this being my favourite period of life thus far. As an international student, it was easy to make friends through my program in addition to the numerous societies and sports clubs on campus."

"Coming from the vibrant city of Hong Kong, I particularly loved my walks around town, especially on days where I just want to wind down- there are a handful of independent coffee shops to pick from. St Andrews has so much to offer, whether I feel like meeting friends at a small minimalistic chic cafe or grabbing a to-go and doing my assignment by the benches of West Sands beach! The best part about it is, you see a friendly face everywhere you go, I feel completely at ease and safe, this place is easily a place I call my second home!"

"My favourite thing about studying at St Andrews has been the extracurricular opportunities. The Evening Language courses are really good value for money - I'm taking both Spanish and Japanese lessons. At my undergraduate University in London the equivalent would have been more than triple the cost!"
Thomas

"In my spare time I enjoy exploring St Andrews by foot, discovering all the nooks and crannies like Spinkie Den and Craigtoun Country Park. Cycling around North East Fife can also be exciting, visiting local villages and places like Tentsmuir Forest."

"I love my academic family, and still keep in touch with them after 7 years. My parents helped out with my kids at Raisin, so we had 3 generations together!"
