10 January 2020

Christos Lynteris has published an Opinion article in the New York Times that provides ethnographic and historical context to the use of masks in East Asia. The article shows that masks are used not only to defend oneself from infection by the emergent coronavirus but also to foster social solidarity in affected communities.
