Energy Ethics Film Screening at COP25 in Madrid
The documentary ‘The end of an era? A story of oil workers. / ¿El final de una era? Historia de la industria petrolera’ focusing on individuals working in the oil and gas industry is being shown as part of the proceedings of the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP25 in Madrid on Wednesday 11th December. This film was made by the Big Tree Collective as part of the Energy Ethics Project at the University of St Andrews. The film tackles questions of the ethical dilemmas involved in the continued search for and extraction of fossil fuels from the perspective of those working within the industry. In a world where climate change concerns are a priority and where alternative renewable energies seem to be advancing, the documentary explores how the energy transition should take place, asking some of the people who have been part of the damage if they are ready to embrace change.
