Biography

I am a Coordinator in the Global Research Centre for Diverse Intelligences in the School of Psychology and Neuroscience.

From 2021 to 2024 I coordinated the St Andrews Network for Climate, Energy, Environment and Sustainability (STACEES), leading its communications strategy and supporting interdisciplinary collaboration through events, engagement activities, outputs, and funding bids. In 2024 I also coordinated a STAIRS‑funded interdisciplinary Climate Change project that mapped expertise and collaboration opportunities in climate research at St Andrews and with global partners. This project hosted the inaugural University of St Andrews Climate Week in May 2024.

Between 2015 and 2019 I was the Network Facilitator for the Leverhulme International Network for Contemporary Studies, contributing to planning events in Montreal, Paris, Delhi, Glasgow, and St Andrews. I also served as Administrative Officer for Research and Impact in the School of Modern Languages, supporting REF and impact, ethics, grants, conferences, and events.

Alongside this work, my artistic practice explores human condition and the environment through drawing, painting, and installation. Rooted in personal experience and observation, my work combines stylised motifs and observational drawing to reflect on interconnectedness. More at www.laurapelsferra.com.
