Programme information

This programme will begin your journey with the crucial element of how to communicate well with colleagues and direct reports. Day 2 will start your thinking towards horizon scanning your service and what you expect to achieve over the coming year culminating in a team plan. This plan will then be used for the next session where you will be conducting a skills gap analysis and creating a development plan for your team. Day 3 will continue your journey by using that team plan and development plan and considering how to ensure your team are not overloaded with tasks and can be productive whilst ensuring that their wellbeing is being addressed. The last day of this journey will focus on you as a manager; what development do you need? Followed by an Action Learning Set where we ask managers to prepare to talk about a real-life management challenge that they would benefit from peer input. 1-2 people will be able to discuss their situation.

To ensure that your time spent in the training room will be action orientated, pre-programme work will be assigned before each of the 4 days. A link to the Moodle page will be issued prior to the start of the programme.

The anticipated dynamic of the programme will enable delegates to learn from each other in an engaging and inclusive way and will be facilitated in a professional manner ensuring everyone takes some key learnings from the programme.  It is designed for our managers and led by you, the delegates.

The programme culminates in you sharing stories of how your learning has impacted on you as managers and the difference this has made.
