Course information
This information session is designed for professional services staff and will update colleagues on the University’s approach to student immigration and UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) Compliance. You will be introduced to key staff within the Student Immigration Service (International Advice and Visa Compliance) and we will cover the University’s responsibilities and approaches around engagement monitoring for international students. The session will be suitable for new staff and existing staff who support international students and are involved in monitoring student engagement.
Aims and objectives
The aims of the session will be:
- To inform staff of the work of the Student Immigration Service and introduce key staff within the Service.
- To explain the specialist advice the Service offers.
- To update staff on any UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) developments relevant to our students.
- To introduce staff to school compliance responsibilities in relation to supporting students with visas, including engagement monitoring.
At the end of the session attendees should have a clear understanding of the role of your school in ensuring the University complies with its responsibilities in relation to student visas, and who to refer students to when they need advice.
