Arabic & Persian and German are ranked top in the UK, according to the National Student Survey 2024

The NSS 2024 results have arrived and the School of Modern Languages is delighted to announce that both Arabic & Persian (up from 2 in 2023) and German (up from 4) have been ranked top in the UK. German was also the highest scoring subject in the University of St Andrews.

All of the Modern Languages subjects that were included in the survey are in the top 10 this year. The other results are as follows:

• Comparative Literature: 4 (down from 1)
• French:  9 (up from 13)
• Spanish: 4 (up from 15)
• Russian: 2 (down from 1)
