Teaching Excellence award for Abdulrahman Alsayed
The School of Modern Languages extends congratulations to Abdulrahman A. A. Alsayed, PhD Researcher in Language and Linguistics, for winning the 1413 Teaching Excellence Award presented by the University of St Andrews Students’ Association as an Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant.
In this 14-year tradition, over 300 educators from the University’s teaching staff were nominated by students for their contributions to learning, teaching, and research. Thirty-one nominees were shortlisted, and twelve were selected to win the awards by two panels of student representatives.
Abdulrahman expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “It means a lot to me that our students found my contribution to teaching noteworthy of recognition in the Teaching Excellence Awards this year. When teaching my classes, my hope was for the students to find them useful in their learning journey and that, on its own, would have been a very fulfilling achievement. Receiving this extra recognition goes beyond that and I am truly grateful for it.”
