Professor Will Fowler made member of the Mexican Academy of History
Professor Will Fowler (School of Modern Languages) was made an a international member of the Mexican Academy of History (Academia Mexicana de la Historia) back in January 2021. However, he was unable to give his inaugural lecture in person at the time, because of the pandemic. He finally addressed the Academia in its historic building in Carlos Pacheco Square in Mexico City last week, on Tuesday 4th of October, with an inaugural lecture entitled: “Tiempo mexicano, historia universal: La anatomía de los instantes del ayer y su transnacionalidad (Mexican Time, Universal History: The Anatomy of Instants from Our Past and their Transnationality).” He is the fourth British scholar to be made a member of the Academia, and the first scholar to do so representing Scotland.
