Correspondent membership of the Academia Mexicana de la Historia
The School wishes to congratulate Professor Will Fowler, who has been made a member of the Academia Mexicana de la Historia Correspondiente de la Real de Madrid.
Founded in 1919, the AMH is Mexico’s national Academy of History, modelled on the Real Academia de la Historia in Madrid, the equivalent national academy of history in Spain. Its main purpose is to promote the study of Mexican history. It is made up of 30 members, resident in Mexico, with allocated seats and numbers, and several corresponsales (correspondent members) based at home and abroad.
In having been made a corresponsal extranjero member, Will becomes the fourth British scholar to have been granted this recognition. He has requested to give his investiture lecture in person at the Academia’s site in Mexico City once it is safe to travel again.
