Race and ethnicity

The School of Modern Languages is committed to creating an inclusive culture and environment where individuals are able to thrive irrespective of their race or ethnicity.

The School acknowledges that Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) students and staff are under-represented in many academic settings and can face prejudice and discrimination. The University has a number of student societies that are relevant to BAME communities and has a BAME mentoring scheme for students. 

The School and University do not tolerate harassment, bullying or intimidation. We have a Student Harassment & Bullying Policy, and complaints or concerns should be reported via the University’s Report and Support tool.
