Dr Song Zhang
Lecturer in Banking & Finance
Biography
Dr Song Zhang joined the School of Management in August 2019 as a lecturer in Banking & Finance. He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Surrey and a BSc in Biotechnology from Nanjing University. His research interests lie in the areas of banking, entrepreneurial finance, corporate finance and financial reporting. Song has published research papers in internationally excellent academic journals, such as the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Business Research, International Small Business Journal, and Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, among others. His research output has captured the interest from the media including the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance. Song has also produced a book chapter in the Oxford Handbook of Entrepreneurial Finance published by the Oxford University Press. Moreover, his research has successfully attracted funding from the British Academy and the Leverhulme Trust.
Dr Song Zhang has accumulated teaching experience in the areas of financial accounting, financial management, corporate finance, business valuation, financial investment, risk management, research methods, etc. He is a member of the School Ethics Committee and serves as the Undergraduate Admissions Officer for the School of Management.
