Biography
Martin retired as Senior Teaching Fellow and Director of Operations at the School of Management, University of St Andrews in September 2019. He joined the School in 2006 having previously been Senior Lecturer at Dundee Business School, University of Abertay.
His career in higher education has involved him in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in human resource management, academic management and leadership, programme development and management, quality assurance systems, research, consultancy and executive education.
He is a member of the British Academy of Management (BAM), the British Universities Industrial Relations Association (BUIRA) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
As an Honorary Associate Lecturer, Martin maintains contact with colleagues in the School and continues to have a keen interest in the work of the School.
Research areas
Martin's research interests include organisational change and HR strategy, partnership working in organisations and skill development.
