Advisory Council
The School of Management's Advisory Council provides advice to students and staff, and contributes to:
- development of the School's strategy
- engagement with stakeholders, both internal and external
- research collaborations, grant applications and impact
- involvement in module and programme development
- engagement with students and alumni through meetings, guest lectures and individual mentoring
- development and delivery of executive education
- promotion of the School and development of its global networks.
Professor Alan Alexander
Chair, Advisory Council
Professor Alan Alexander was General Secretary of the Royal Society of Edinburgh from 2013 to 2018. He is Emeritus Professor Public Sector Management, University of Strathclyde.

Helen Chambers
Advisory Council member
Helen Chambers co-founded Inspiring Scotland, a leading philanthropy organisation which invests money and expertise in the voluntary sector to tackle some of Scotland's most critical social issues. She is a member of the Commission on School Reform.

David Cox
Advisory Council member
David Cox worked with Jardine Matheson in Asia Pacific and South Africa. He returned to the UK to join United Distillers in London, then Highland Distillers and the Edrington Group in Scotland. Now retired, he serves on committees including the Highland Distillers Pension Fund and the Arts Society Tayside, and is vice-chairman of the local community council.

Peter Dawson
Advisory Council member
Peter Dawson was appointed Secretary of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and Chief Executive of the R&A in May 1999. He became President of the International Golf Federation in 2010 and has overseen golf in the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing in 2014 and the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016. His business career was in the engineering sector, with over 25 years' experience at chief executive level.

Joanna Goddard is a commercial growth specialist. She is Director of Programmes at Business Resilience International Management, and serves as an ambassador for the young people's personal resilience charity, The Polar Academy.

Edwin O'Hora
Advisory Council member
Edwin O'Hora is the owner of OHORA Consulting, a strategic organisation development solutions provider specialising in supporting teams and organisations of all sizes and types through periods of change. He is Programme Director of the postgraduate diploma in Organisation Development and Transformation at the Irish Management Institute (IMI) in Dublin.

Tetsuya Ohara is known as a pioneer of disruptive eco innovation for high growth rate organisations. He holds seven patents from the United States Patent Office, having worked in and led materials research and development for Teijin, Dimension Polyant, Patagonia and Gap.

Larry Sullivan
Advisory Council member
Larry Sullivan is the Chairman and Co-Founder of Construction Industry Solutions (COINS), a global software company with offices in the UK, USA, Australia, Dubai and Russia and with clients in over 21 countries. He is also an angel investor in tech and biotech start-ups that focus on AI and social impact.
