International reach for research on Brexit and SMEs

20 January 2020

A paper by Professors Ross Brown and John Wilson and Dr José Liñares-Zegarra on the topic of Brexit and SMEs, is deemed one of the most widely disseminated publications in the social sciences in 2019, according to the Observatory of International Research (OOIR).

Using data collated by Altmetrics, the OOIR publishes an annual list of research which creates the most attention and achieves the greatest international reach. The Altmetric Attention Score is a weighted count of all of the mentions Altmetric has tracked for an individual research output and is designed as an indicator of the amount and reach of the attention an item has received.

The paper, published in Regional Studies, is listed as the seventh most widely disseminated publication in 2019 in the category of "Geography" from a total of 21,443 papers.
