Professor at event on human rights, business and sustainable development

26 September 2019

Professor John Ferguson was an invited speaker at a workshop in South Africa on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The workshop, 'Human rights, responsible business conduct and the SDGs in Africa', was hosted by the Centre for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria.

The event was part of a funded project, Realising the SDGs: The Role of Responsible Business, which is coordinated by School of Management Honorary Lecturer Dr Claire Methven O'Brien from the Danish Institute for Human Rights.

The workshop brought together early career researchers and established scholars to:

  • present work in progress
  • engage in peer learning in the areas of research, publication and academic development
  • contribute to defining a cross-disciplinary research agenda focused on the SDGs-responsible business nexus in Africa.
